Your calculator values stay in your browser

Every calculation on this site runs locally in your browser. The dimensions, resolutions, ratios, diagonals and densities you type are never transmitted to a server, never stored, and never included in any analytics event.

Your inputs do appear in the address bar, in the query string, so that refreshing the page keeps your work and so a copied link reproduces the same result. That URL stays on your device unless you deliberately share it. If you do share one, remember it carries the values you entered.

What is not collected

• No accounts, logins or profiles.
• No saved or synced calculation history.
• No uploaded images or files — there is nowhere to upload one.
• No advertising, no ad units and no advertising trackers.
• No affiliate links.
• No cookies beyond the two first-party analytics cookies described below.
• No email address is requested and there is no newsletter.
• No cross-site tracking, fingerprinting or behavioural profiling.

Analytics

The live site uses two analytics systems, and only those two: Cloudflare Web Analytics and Google Analytics 4. Both count page views so that the site can be understood and improved. Neither receives the values you type into a calculator.

Both run on the public site at ratioandrule.com only. Preview deployments, local development builds and automated tests load neither of them.

Cloudflare Web Analytics

Cloudflare Web Analytics counts page views and records basic performance timings. It is privacy-focused: it sets no cookies, does not fingerprint visitors, and does not track people across sites or sessions. What it records is limited to page-level information — which page was viewed, the referring site, approximate country, and browser and device type.

No Cloudflare Analytics token is configured for this particular deployment, so its beacon is not loaded on the page you are reading.

Google Analytics 4

Google Analytics 4 is used to understand how the site is used and how it performs: which calculators people reach, how they arrive, which pages are worth improving, and whether the site works on the devices people actually use. It is used for measurement only.

Your calculator values are not sent to it. Your inputs live in the address bar as a query string, and the site deliberately strips that query string before reporting anything. A visit to/ppi-calculator?w=2560&h=1440&d=27 is reported to Google as/ppi-calculator and nothing more. The address bar itself is left alone, so your work, your refresh and your shared links all still behave exactly as before. No dimension, resolution, ratio, density or measurement is sent as an event, a page title or a custom property.

Google Analytics does set two first-party cookies of its own, _ga and_ga_<stream>, which let it tell a returning visit from a new one. They contain a random identifier, they are readable only by this site, and they are not used to build an advertising profile: Google Signals, ad personalisation and remarketing are all switched off in the site's configuration.

Advertising

No advertising is served on this site. There are no ad units, no ad slots, no ad-serving scripts and no advertising cookies. Nothing on any page is loaded by an advertising network.

Two pieces of configuration exist so that Google can confirm who owns the site while an AdSense application is under review: a google-adsense-account meta tag in each page's head, and anads.txt file listing the publisher account authorised to sell advertising here. Both are inert text. Neither loads code, sets a cookie, reads anything from your browser or tracks you, and neither changes what the calculators do.

If advertising is ever introduced, this page will say so before it appears, and it will describe exactly what is loaded and what it collects.

Hosting

The site is served as static files by Cloudflare Pages. As with any web host, Cloudflare processes the network requests needed to deliver the page, which involves standard server-side information such as IP address and user agent. That is a property of how the web works rather than something this site collects or retains.

Local storage

The site itself writes nothing to local storage or session storage, and stores no calculation history. The only cookies are the two first-party Google Analytics cookies described above. Nothing you type is written to your device by this site.

Third-party content

There are no embedded videos, social widgets, comment systems, chat widgets, advertising scripts, font services or content delivery networks other than the host itself. Fonts are served from this site's own domain. The only third-party code on the page is the two analytics measurement scripts named above, and the content security policy permits only the resources the site actually uses.

Children

The site is a set of calculators with no accounts and no data collection, so it is equally safe to use at any age.

Changes

If what the site does ever changes, this page changes with it. It describes the implementation that is actually deployed, not a generic template.
